St. Elizabeth of Portugal
July 4, 2017

Elizabeth was named after her great-aunt, St. Elizabeth of Hungary. Elizabeth of Portugal was a queen and mother, she loved the poor, was peacemaker in the royal family.  She later became a lay member of the Franciscan order (called Tertiary).  She died in 1336.  Elizabeth is the patroness of Catholic charities.

Today, our Brother Ulrich, celebrates his namesday.  We wish Brother Ulrich, God's maninfold and gracious gifts and blessings for a day of peace and joy.

Lieber Bruder Ulrich!  Alles Gute und Gottes Segen zum Namenstag!
