Feast of St. Clare
August 11, 2017

Clare of Assisi, a disciple of St. Francis of Assisi, founded the Poor Clares whose first convent at Assisi she directed as abbess for forty-two years.  Clare led an austere life, rich in the practive of charity and loving care.  She died at the age of 61 in 1253.  She was canonized by Pope Alexander in 1255.

We pray for our Poor Clare Sisters throughout the world.
